Our Favourite Online Financial Websites
This page contains a number of financial websites that we like and use and can recommend highly to readers. They are in no particular order, but you should check them all out! A UK site that fights for consumer rights is
MoneySavingExpert.com
and is run by Martin Lewis, a financial journalist. He relishes making the lives of big companies hell on behalf of the rest of us! Also in the UK is one of - if not the - oldest investment magazine in the world.
InvestorsChronicle
is a must read weekly magazine that assesses and opines about stock market listed companies. Excellent. Investors Chronicle is owned by the same company that operates the
Financial Times
which - as everyone on earth must know by now - is one of the most respected daily financial newspapers in the world. We personally use their online version and monthly subscription and can highly recommend the service. Other daily newspapers worthy of a mention in financial terms include
The Wall Street Journal
and
International Herald Tribune
. Needless to say, there are some influential business and finance magazines as well. We particularly like
The Economist
and
Business Week
. We also find the financial pages of two major TV channels to be very instructive. They are, of course,
CNN
and the
BBC
. The professionals, of course, use different information services - as provided by
Bloomberg
and / or
Reuters
. Both come very highly recommended, though their prices for a 'screen' put them beyond the reach of most private investors. Some other, more independently minded websites include
Financial Sense
(if you plan to really check this excellent site out, spend the day!), Dr Marc Faber's
Gloom, Boom and Doom
Report, Warren Buffett's annual musings on the
Berkshire Hathaway
website and the home of 'hard money' at
Kitco
. These sites can and will provide many different mainstream and independent viewpoints as to what is going on in the financial world. In our humble opinions, a wide-range of views is essential to investment success.
