Investing for retirement

by Darius
(New York)

If what you are investing for is retirement I would choose real estate, especially if you have a lot of time before you retire.

Property values will always increase over time, it's a very safe option. In the last 10 years, my house has increased $400,000. I admit I have had a lot of work done like extensions and pools and things like that. But even if I did nothing to the house it would still have increased in value by at least $200,000 just because of the area way the area has grown. $20,000 a year not a bad investment!
